Thiago Peres studied English for over 10 years at Sociedade Brasileira de Cultura Inglesa, one of the most famous and trustworthy English schools in Brazil. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Letters and Translation with specialization in English language from one of the highest ranking Brazilian universities, the University of Brasilia - UnB. He has visited more than 10 foreign countries and has lived in the United States for a short period.
In Brazil, he has worked as a full-time translator in prominent international organizations such as UNICEF, Embassy of Australia, Embassy of Pakistan and Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. While at the British Embassy, he was supervisor of the Translation Team and acquired a sound experience in providing bilingual support to celebrities, high-rank governmental authorities and VIPs in general, including Royal Family Mambers, Prime-Ministers, Secretaries of State and Members of the House of Lords and House of Commons. He has also participated in important international events such as World Congress III Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in 2009, the GREAT campaign global launch and Prince Harry's visit to Brazil in 2012, and the Rio+20 UN Conference in 2012. As a free-lance translator, he has provided his services to the Embassy of Japan, the Brazilian Special Secretariat for Human Rights, the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil, the Law Department at the University of Brasilia, the Law Magazine of the University of Brasilia, the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, Ecologica Institute, Social Carbon Company, UTI Vida Emergency Care and Language Automation Inc. He has three published translations and has already received an award as Portuguese-language writer under category blogs and short stories.
Thiago Peres was trained as an interpreter by Sismaltec Telecomunicacoes from Recife-PE, under instruction of Professor Ayrton Farias. He has already acted as an interpreter to the Special Secretariat of Human Rights, the Embassy of Pakistan, the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Court of Justice of the Brazilian Federal District, the Center for Technological Development at the University of Brasilia and FLAP Event Promotion Agency.
